Join us tomorrow for an exclusive live interview with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy as he talks to FT editor Roula Khalaf.
Ukraine faces deep economic challenges after Russian missile strikes destroyed the country’s main oil refinery and depots, causing nationwide fuel shortages. As fighting intensifies and Russia gains ground, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine’s troops are outgunned 20 to one by Russian artillery and are dying at a rate of up to 100 a day, with 400 wounded.
The US said it would supply Ukraine with new weapons as part of a $40bn assistance package. The UK said it would also give Ukraine M270 MLRS and Spain is also reportedly set to deliver anti-aircraft missiles and Leopard A4 tanks from its munition reserves, but the speed and scale of weapons deliveries is now crucial.
Join us tomorrow on 7th June at 10:30am BST to hear from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself on the state of the war and the fight Ukraine faces. We will also be joined by the Prime Minister of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš and the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Ingrida Šimonytė on Wednesday 8th June to discuss how the Baltic region is responding to the war and the future of their security.
